Background

In May 2014, The APPG on Poverty announced the Paul Goggins Memorial Prize. Paul Goggins MP was the Secretary of the APPG on Poverty and a strong voice for the anti poverty campaign in and outside of Parliament. The prize was to be awarded to the best civil society initiative that could demonstrate that it had reduced poverty in a tangible way.

Whitefoot and Downham Community Food + Project was nominated by our MP Heidi Alexander, and was shortlisted, and on 19th November members of the Steering Group were invited to the House of Commons where the winner would be announced............
